Open up to bright dawn -
You, counting out a rhyme
Foot tap to keep time
Down into darkness,
Come, open, ease your way
Into warm seasons.
Open up to clear trails
-
You, running downhill
Breathless heartache
Lonely river home
,
Come, ready, unlatch here
A new door.
Come, open up to every
Moment courted.
Leave tunnels, hovels
Soul-in-hiding places
,
Dance unrestrained
Over wet moss
In barefooted
Joy.
