Once you see how fragile it all is, how bravely thin Each fiber linking lung to thought, encased In finespun bands of webspaced skin, ornately Ringed with strings of curious bones and tendon-laced: You cannot help but wonder at the rest - sanguine Muscle, calloused, sentry skin, rough keratin of tensile Hair, nail stonecraft sharp, velvet membranous elastin - All born renewable as water, wind and soil, formed tactile- Tender, suited to the earth, oddly orchestrated by that Which would stun visiting dissectors, a vividly winding Track, takes up quiet shelter in our spiney cordwood backs, Sets limbs to dance, slow savors touch, yet jolts at stings; How did simple sinews grow this sentient gift - Arms vitals, questions whether souls exist?
