Will you be listening to my every breath, then, Watch me sleeping or awake Robotic Santa Claus?
If I should fall in love Will you mark the occassion With increased surveillance So you can better read All the doubt and longing In my darting eyes?
And will you also stand sentinel On those nights I cannot rest Sewing word to word Weeping fresh, hot tears Utterly alone?
In your time on this earth Will you hear the infants crying Know the soft kisses of young lovers Vacant daydreams of sunset fools Treason of poets More bold than I?
And will you come for me, then To ferry me to my final reckoning, Record the result For posterity Keep an eye on my funeral?
Years from now, Will it be you alone who makes me immortal With your indefatigueable sentry Over my unmarked grave?
